We are looking for a strategic heavyweight to solidify the new organizational design, optimize internal workflows, and foster a “networked organization” approach between central and decentralized departments. /p p The Challenge /p p As the interim lead, you will report directly to the Executive Board and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. You will oversee a diverse department responsible for Corporate Communications, International Marketing, Student Recruitment, and Public Affairs. /p p Your mission is to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and operational excellence, ensuring the institution’s societal impact is communicated effectively on a global scale. /p p Key Responsibilities /p ulli Strategic Steerage: Drive the execution of the 2030 Communication Marketing vision and the overarching digital/online strategy. /lili Reputation Management: Act as a senior advisor to the Board of Directors on branding, issues management, and international positioning. /lili Leadership: Provide direct leadership to the central team while functionally managing decentralized marketing and comms units across various business units. /lili Unified Branding: Champion a consistent, “one-brand” identity across all national and international activities. /lili Process Optimization: Further develop professional standards and collaborative work processes within the marketing/comms pillar. /li /ul p Candidate Profile /p p We are looking for a “strategic connector”—someone who possesses the diplomatic sensitivity required for a complex academic environment combined with a results-oriented, high-energy leadership style. /p ulli Academic Background: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Marketing, or a related field. /lili Experience: 10+ years of senior-level experience managing reputation and positioning within complex, international, or administrative organizations. /lili Leadership Style: Proven track record in leading large teams of professionals; you lead through craftsmanship, delegation, and trust. /lili Industry Savvy: Deep understanding of the dynamics within the scientific, educational, or NGO sectors is highly preferred. /lili Language: Fluency in Dutch and English is essential. /li /ul p Details for Applicants /p p This is a freelance (ZZP) interim assignment.
